Yves Saint Laurent’s Most Scandalous Collection Revisited

Starting on March 19 exhibition goers at the Fondation Pierre Bergé will be able to view Yves Saint Laurent’s notorious 1971 collection that was inspired by the Nazi presence in Paris during World War II.

The exhibition, aptly titled “Yves Saint Laurent 1971: La Collection du Scandale,» will showcase YSL’s controversial Spring Summer collection from 1971. The exhibit will showcase 40 outfits from the fateful collection, all of which reference, “a painful and shameful period in French history,” according to Blouin. The collection was made based on the outfits worn by those known to associate with the Nazis––in particular, French women of the era––and was criticized by Eugenia Sheppard as “truly hideous”.

The exhibit will be comprised of archival photos, clothing, films, magazine editorials, and film footage of the entire line, and will be on display until July 19.

Made to Move: Get Inspired with Nike

Our favorite photographer Adrenus Craton is at it again, and this time she was inspired by Nike and the Nike Foundation. Craton was inspired by Nike’s dedication and advocacy for positive social change. Craton writes, “I believe in the power of human potential, and I am moved by those who make this possible by using creativity as the tool for social change. This is the case with Nike Inc, who are “committed to building deeper community connections and creating positive social change around the world” through their Nike Foundation,” and perfectly captures these sentiments with her inspirational photography.

Craton photographed models from NovelModels Elite agency, expertly highlighting the subtle intricacies and fleeting moments behind Nike’s ‘Just Do It’ slogan. See the inspirational photos in the gallery above!

Taylor Swift’s Legs Insured for $40 Million, Most Expensive Body Parts in Hollywood

It’s no secret that Taylor Swift has some of the nicest legs in Hollywood, but how much are they actually worth? At five-foot-ten inches tall, her legs for days are worth 40 million dollars––or at least that’s how much she just had them insured for. Taylor’s not the only one to have her body parts insured, however. As weird as it may sound, having your legs or teeth insured is a normal practice in Hollywood.

See who’s been insured for what and for how much in the gallery above!

Brasserie Turned Runway at Chanel Paris Fashion Week

At the Grand Palais Karl Lagerfeld presented Chanel’s winter 2015 women’s ready-to-wear in a pop-up restaurant, complete with french waiters in black waistcoats serving champagne and coffee. The models would peruse newspapers, linger at the counter and order coffees.

The bar was named after the late Coco Chanel–whose real name was Gabrielle–and featured plates of hard boiled eggs, olives, and radishes all laid out on the bar of the brasserie. «It’s the daily life of a certain category of people,» Lagerfeld explained after the show. «This is down-to-earth daily life — in certain circumstances.»

The collection featured nods to classic archive Chanel collections while maintaining the German designer’s penchant for novel modern fabrics and textures with staples such as the slimly tailored suit paired with cigarette skirts with a twist of puckering. Lagerfeld said he wanted to «give a new touch to the little black dress» with a collection of sheer black silk cocktail dresses lined in nude. The dresses came modified with Peter Pan collars or bows at the shoulders giving them a feminine sleek look.

Chanel is looking like a runner for best in show at Paris Fashion Week so far. Check out some of our favorite looks in the gallery.
