Karlie Kloss is leaving Victoria Secret at the end of her contract to attend NYU. Before you have a heart attack at the thought of not having any new photos of Kloss in lingerie being produced, the model says she will continue to work while she goes to school.

The story broke at Vogue when they reported that it’s March cover star had recently been admitted to NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study. The bombshell had Christy Turlington Burns write her a letter of recommendation. It’s no surprise Kloss is interested in going to school, with a track record of turning her career as a model into a conglomerate with a L’Oreal endorsement deal and a partnership with Code Academy.

A source close to Kloss told People, “Karlie is stepping down from her Angel duties. She’s got a busy but exciting year ahead and the decision came down to timing. She’ll be focusing on her modeling career, new business opportunities, and NYU starting in the fall.”

Kloss said,“I’ll still be working full-time,” she said. “I’m incredibly ambitious and have lots of goals within my career that I’m not slowing down anytime soon.” Good news all around.

Despite all of his best efforts, Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 1 Adidas Collection has been the subject of criticism and debate in the industry. Some lauded the clothing, while others very publicly spoke out against it. Amidst all of the clamor and buzz surrounding his Adidas line, Kanye has remained uncharacteristically silent––until now.

After Kelly Cutrone called Kanye a ‘joke’ and the creator of New York Fashion Week, Fern Mallis, told the New York Post she was “kind of over” him, the star has finally taken to Twitter to defend his line. The fashion world held its breath, waiting for another Kanye outburst, but the rapper kept his cool and instead started a serious dialogue about his career in the industry.

Unphased by Fern’s cold shouldered comments, Kanye West instead focused on the larger problems of stereotypes and lack of diversity in the industry. He stated his fame as being a hinderance, rather than a boost, to his design career––adding to his previous sentiments that he lost many fashion friends after dating reality star, Kim Kardashian.

The designer ended his Twitter defense by telling Fern that if she wanted to have a real conversation with him they could meet at The Spotted Pig for drinks. It appears that The Spotted Pig is Kanye’s go-to for making up; the rapper previously met up with new friend Taylor Swift there for dinner.

Will Emma Watson be the next princess to be inducted into The Royal Family? Rumors are circulating that the two most attractive Brits have been rendezvousing in secret for some time now. At this point the Emma-Harry romance is all speculation, but their supposed romance is sizing up to be steamier than Ricaprio’s.

Sources claim that Prince Harry had his eye on Emma and asked a mutual acquaintance to hook them up after the Harry Potter star broke up with former boyfriend Matthew Janey. Prince Harry is known for being a royal playboy but, according to Woman’s Day, an insider has revealed, “He’s smitten – and it’s more than Emma’s looks.”

If the rumors are true––and fans everywhere are frantically crossing their fingers in hopes that they are––then Emma Watson clearly has a thing for gingers. The merging of Emma’s star power and Harry’s royal bloodline will make the most powerful celebrity couple yet. All they need now is a cute couple name. Hemma? Warry? Harmione? What will it be?

All jokes aside, if the two Brits are truly smitten with each other, we wish all the best for the happy couple. After Emma was cast as ‘Belle’ in a live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, we have no doubt that she is fit to be more than just a Disney princess.

Kanye momentarily forgot to put on his best unamused face when his idol, Ralph Lauren, caressed his cheek after the Ralph Lauren fall presentation at New York Fashion Week. The star was caught grinning from ear to ear, and the priceless moment was later uploaded to Instagram by Ralph Lauren’s son David Lauren. We haven’t seen Kanye cheese so hard in…well, ever.

In an interview with Style.com, the rapper called Ralph Lauren a ‘god’. Kanye had no words––a rare occurrence in itself––other than, “Ralph is the god. And that’s all I want to say about Ralph.” This interview was conducted shortly after Kanye’s debut collection with Adidas at New York Fashion Week, which was recently criticized and called ‘a joke’ by Kelly Cutrone. Ralph Lauren, however, doesn’t seem to care about Kanye’s talents as a designer and was pictured caressing the rapper-turned-designers face backstage.

After Kanye West’s outburst at the Grammy Awards back in 2008 when Taylor Swift won best album over Beyonce, the two have had a rocky friendship. The rumor mill started spinning at this year’s Grammys when the two enemies met each other with smiles and hugs on the red carpet. No one believed it to be true that the two had put away their differences. Some even went as far as to claim they were friends and working on music together.

All of the rumors came to a halt earlier this week when the pair were seen in New York City having dinner to discuss music. Kanye went on Ryan Seacrest’s radio program and confirmed the details. The two are in fact working together and Kanye is thrilled at the opportunity to work with Swift.

The cutest baby on the planet is not yours, it’s Kimmy’s. A photo of Kim Kardashian as a baby side-by-side North West, at what appears to be the same age, was posted on Kim’s Instagram. The two babies look like identical twins.

Like, I was so bizarre,» the star of Keeping Up With The Kardashians said. «If I could go back [in time] I’d just be classic. That’s why I try to dress my daughter classic so she can look back at her baby pictures when she’s older and know that she was dressed so simple and cute.»

North West is often spotted in the front row of fashion shows around the world, but her style is tame, composed, and––as Kim said––’classic’.

Maxim is getting a serious makeover with Kate Lanphear as the publication’s new editor-in-chief. Lanphear, who has previously worked for publications like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, is leaving her position as style director for T magazine in favor of Maxim.

The announcement has puzzled readers of both the Vogue and Maxim varieties. As a stylist and street style favorite, Lanphear’s dive into the world of overexposed swimsuit models seems unexpected at best. Despite being an expert on womenswear and curating her own sartorial style, the same cannot be said about Lanphear’s experience with menswear. According to the New York Times, Maxim’s publisher Kevin Martinez said about her appointment, “It’s such a curiosity.”

Despite admitting that she was nervous, Lanphear seems to be taking her new position in a stride. Her first Maxim issue will feature 3 fashion based editorials and based on a report from Fashionista, advertisers have bought 1300 percent more advertising space for fashion. Lanphear is delivering the new age of Maxim, and perhaps with it, a reworking of the male gaze.

In response to Maxim’s sexualization of women, Lanphear said, “I want women to be portrayed as three-dimensional as they actually are, that they are confident, healthy and energetic and happy. I want women that men can fall in love with and not just objectify.”

Lanphear’s first cover will feature Candice Swanepoel, who was also at the top of Maxim’s Hot 100 list. Swanepoel appears on the pages of the publication nearly nude, but Lanphear’s direction is evident. Swanepoel is nude, not naked––a subtlety that can only be achieved by the feminine gaze.

Fashion Week anywhere is notoriously hard to get into, unless you’re name ends with Wintour or Kardashian. Those who aren’t blessed with the title of Vogue’s editor-in-chief or born into a celebrity namesake have long consumed fashion weeks all over the world through secondhand media. First there were newspapers and press releases and then came Style.com and Instagram. Now, in the ongoing love story between tech and fashion, the game is changing again. Snapchat is allowing anybody who’s anybody––with a smartphone––all access to fashion week.

According to Advertising Age, fashionistas of all varieties are taking advantage of Snapchat’s public story functionality, which allows users to upload photos and videos for a duration of 24-hours; much longer than Snapchat’s original few second clips. Among the insiders taking advantage of this function include Eva Chen, editor-in-chief of Lucky Magazine, and Leandra Medine of the “Man Repeller” blog.

With the rapid and continued merge of technology and fashion, runway shows and brand presentations are becoming less exclusive and more tangible by the moment, which raises the question; how will the industry define high fashion when it becomes accessible to the masses? Will high fashion become as obsolete as a CD player? Only time––and tech––will tell.
