Kim Kardashian Reveals $2K Worth of Beauty Secrets

The 34-year-old mother and TV personality just dished on her hair and beauty routine. The starlette gave Into the Gloss an exclusive on what it takes to get herself camera ready, and the total cost amounted to a whopping $1,977.75 for all the creams, contours and lasers.

Kim said about her lengthy––and pricey––routine, “I just love to take care of my skin. I’m always researching different products, and I always try so many different things. I don’t just stick to one face wash or moisturizer.” Among the products that Kim uses, Guerlain Orchidée Impériale The Rich Cream tops the list as the most expensive product at $455 for 1.7 ounces, and a personal Quasar MD Plus LED light therapy machine is the priciest treatment at $795.

Before

Kim also revealed that her father, Robert Kardashian, was the one who kickstarted her love of makeup saying, “My dad got me makeup classes for Christmas when I was like 14 at some Joe Blasco makeup school, and I’ve worn that foundation ever since.” As someone who makes a living being in front of the cameras, it makes sense that Kim is a bona fide beauty buff. Some of her beauty secrets came as a shock, however. The starlet revealed that she only washes her hair once every five days.

After

“For my hair, I don’t wash it every day. We start out with a blowout on day one, then we go into a messier vibe the next day, and then we flat iron it and do a really sleek look on day three since that requires a little oil in the hair. Day four could be a slicked-back ponytail, and on the fifth day is when you wash it. That’s a little excessive, maybe,” she said.

Armed with a cavalry of the best estheticians, hair stylists, and makeup artists, Kim’s nonchalant attitude towards her $2K daily beauty ritual doesn’t really come as a surprise. Still, I can’t justify dropping a few months worth of rent on my face––and I spend quite a bit.

Stay tuned to Fashion One to see how you can get Kim’s $2k beauty routine with $200.

Anna Wintour Looks Lost without Signature Sunglasses

Vogue’s reigning editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, looked positively lost this past Monday. The editor and was snapped by paparazzi without her signature shades at JFK Airport. Anna Wintour either had a really bad case of the Mondays or partied a little too hard at Vanity Fair’s Oscars party––either way the 65-year-old had no way of hiding how tired she looked without her signature shades.

Despite looking a little rundown, which is understandable after New York Fashion Week and awards season, Anna looked as fashionable as always. Her trademark blunt bob was perfectly coiffed and she wore a fleece lined motorcycle jacket with a knee length, floral skirt.

To make up for her lack of sunglasses, the editor-in-chief armed herself with a venti Starbucks and an oversized red tote. Anna looked fabulous, especially considering her age. All eyes, however, were on her sunglass-less eyes as she arrived at the airport. Wintour without sunglasses is rarer than Kanye West’s smile––the editor even kept her sunnies on indoors to watch the 87th Academy Awards ceremony.

That only leaves one question to be answered: where’d your sunglasses go, Anna?

Designer to Watch: Christina Economou from Greece

If you haven’t heard of Christina Economou, it won’t be long until you do. The designer attended Parsons and Istituto Marangoni in Paris, and won the 2011 International Award at London Graduate Fashion Week for her graduate project. Afterwards, her career in fashion was off to a sonic boom beginning as she worked for Giambattista Valli and as a correspondent for Greek Vogue in Paris. This move back to Athens, Greece was intentional to progress her own line. Her collections are reflections of her effortless and eclectic style, resulting in a line that is as hip and modern as it is timeless and cutting edge.

Economou said, “It has been quite the learning curve since launching my brand in 2013! I think many young designers today will find that fashion design education prepares you for the challenges of design but not necessarily for the trials and pitfalls of building a successful business.”

She said to Forbes that a few seasons ago she had a great new European stockist who confirmed a large order and backed out after she had ordered the fabrics to launch the production. Shortly after the fabric had come in, the stockist backed out of the deal and instead of letting that stop her she approached a local department store in Athens and suggested a pop-up shop during the holidays. Economou said, “The shop was a great success and helped to increase the brand’s exposure all while minimizing my losses and helping to sell some of my remaining stock. It turned out to be a great business lesson for future seasons!”

10 Most Incredible Oscar Moments

The Academy Awards were full of surprises this year. Some surprises infuriating, others exciting, but as a whole it was an incredible year for cinema. From the red carpet’s glitterati and glamour to the fine art of cinematography, check out our top ten favorite moments from the Oscars.

Lady Gaga’s breathtaking performance of The Sound of Music.

-Neil Patrick Harris’s opening monologue turned into broadway musical. He placed himself into scenes from Star Wars and The Wizard of Oz in hysterical fashion.

-Common and John Legend’s rivetting performance of Glory. The duet made massive impression on the night. Standing in front of the Edmund Pettus Bridge among a chorus dressed like marchers, the performance recognized not only the biggest hit among the Best Song nominees, but also the most memorable.

-Oprah and Emma Stone were awarded Lego Oscars. During the Everything is Awesome performance of The Lego Movie theme song the unlikely couple were given plastic toy awards. The entire scene was awesome.

-Patricia Arquette’s Feminist Acceptance Speech. She delivered the most poignant speech of the evening saying, «To every woman who gave birth to every taxpayer and citizen of this nation, we have fought for everybody else’s equal rights.”

Citizenfour winning Best Documentary. Director, Laura Poitras, said, «I share this award with Glenn Greenwald and the many other journalists who are taking risks to expose the truth.» Edward Snowden released a statement from Russia, following the win, through the ACLU that says, «My hope is that this award will encourage more people to see the film and be inspired by its message that ordinary citizens, working together, can change the world.»

-Tim McGraw’s tribute to Glen Campbell. The song was the last written by the 60-year veteran of country music, who penned it as a love letter to his wife when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2011. The performance was the most heart wrenching of the night.

-Polish director Pawel Pawlikowski’s speech upon winning Best Foreign Film for Ida. Normally exceptionally long speeches get a little ‘wrap it up’ music, but when the orchestra started, Pawlikowski wouldn’t give up. He went on and on until the orchestra stopped. And Pawlikowski continued until the audience burst into applause and the orchestra started again.

-Lady Gaga’s The Sound of Music performance. She gave 110% and it showed.

The Grand Budapest Hotel taking a few Oscars home. There were plenty of near shutouts and snubs, but luckily The Grand Budapest Hotel won in much deserved categories: Best Costuming, Best Original Score, Best Production Design and Best Makeup and Hairstyling.

-Graham Moore’s acceptance speech for The Imitation Game screenplay. The most touching speech of the evening was when Moore explained that at 16-years-old he had attempted suicide for feeling prosecution the same way the main character in The Imitation Game is prosecuted for his homosexuality. Moore advised, «stay weird, stay different, and then when it’s your turn and you are standing on this stage, please pass the same message along.»

Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne Front Row at Topshop Unique

BFFs and supermodels Kendall Jenner and Cara DeLevingne got front row tickets to the Topshop show in London. They had a ball at the show and weren’t afraid to show it. The two were photographed goofing off and taking selfies.

Jenner and DeLevingne came to support Sir Phillip Green’s Topshop Unique show at London Fashion Week at the Tate Britain on Sunday. Jenner wore a pair of baby blue high waisted trousers, a beige coat draped over her shoulders and a cream colored crop top, while DeLevingne wore a more casual, tomboy-look, with a white top and black leather skirt.

The friends arrived together in the Pimlico district of the city and immediately got the media’s attention from their ravishing good looks, style and status. This didn’t prevent the girls from joking around, making funny faces and laughing the entire night.

The duo is closer than ever at this years fashion festivities and even the appearance of their shared ex, Harry Styles, didn’t rattle the pair’s impenetrable bond.

John Travolta Wears a Choker and Guyliner to the Oscars

John Travolta is a nice man with huge talent, a big heart, a sad story, and a funny sense of style. Tonight on the red carpet at the Academy Awards, Travolta showed up wearing all black with a chain collar from the late nineties instead of a tie. How he has fallen this far from his Saturday Night Fever days? We’ve been asking for decades.

Travolta’s hair was immaculately manicured and looked thicker than usual. E! is claiming the man wore guyliner and foundation as well. John Travolta is 61-years-old and deserves a couple of breaks. Maybe he does look like he belongs in Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, but he is a living legend and there is no more fitting way for a walking giant than to look unreal.

Topshop Revolutionizes the Runway at London Fashion Week

Cara Delevingne, Kendall Jenner, Jourdan Dunn and Alexa Chung lined the catwalk in the front row at Topshop’s show at London Fashion Week. The show featured designs that were inspired by the daily lives of twenty-something party girls. With most of fashion week focusing on throwbacks and 70s revival, Topshop’s show was a breath of fresh air.

The UK’s style-savvy retailer partnered with Twitter to give trend hunters instant access to next season’s key looks hot off the catwalk. Twitter technology enabled the most covetable trends from the show to be almost instantly displayed on six real-time shoppable billboards in London, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow. This was the first time a brand used real-time big data to inspire and curate a customer’s shopping journey.

Lindsay Lohan Steals the Show at Gareth Pugh’s Runway Show

Lindsay Lohan showed up to support her friend, Gareth Pugh, at his runway at London Fashion Week and stole the show. The fur gilet Lohan wore was designed by Pierre Cardin and featured capped sleeves. Under the robe was a black mesh dress she matched with black mesh heels, and she has never looked better.

After the show, Lohan posted a photo of some of the runway models on Instagram with a congrats caption saying, ‘well done my friend. Bravo on a much awaited fashion return to UK.’

Lohan spoke to Hunger about her life in London and about why she had to leave LA saying, ‘I’ve seen so much in the past three years and I’m ready to put to bed the reason I had to stay in LA — my court stuff, the community service.’

It looks like LiLo really has turned a new leaf, and she looks great doing it.

Kim Kardashian Crashes, Amber Rose Smashes

Kim Kardashian is a whirlpool of drama this week, getting in car accidents in Montana, admitting to being obsessed with Johnny Depp, and now, her latest row with Amber Rose. Kanye West went on The Breakfast Club two days ago and said about leaving Amber for Kim, «I had to take 30 showers before I got with Kim.»

Amber exploded with rage on Twitter, sharing some unsavory NSFW comments about her ex-lover and Kim Kardashian. Rose believes West is doing the Kardashian’s bidding and said «I’ll leave that up to the Kartrashians to humiliate u when they’re done with u.»

We all look forward to what the Kardashians will do to Kanye West when they are finished with him. Speculations are pointing towards their preferred method of combat, a Twitter war.

Kathy Griffin Dishes It Out as Joan River’s Successor

Kathy Griffin took over for Joan Rivers as host of the red carpet at the Academy Awards tonight. Griffin said about her new role, “She obviously left very big shoes, but we agree that it’s essential to comedy to be fearless and not be afraid to make enemies – certainly, in Hollywood! C’mon, we’re not talking about heads of state here.”

Griffin is always adding new hats to her roster of roles; a standup comic, sitcom star, reality-show queen, periodic D-Lister and, now, host of Fashion Police, E! network’s red carpet bashing.

“I’ve been on the worst-dressed list and the best-dressed list. I started with Suddenly Susan going to red-carpet events. I won two Emmys. I have a Grammy. I’ve really been around the block. And I have really learned about fashion. I’m right there in the [Carolina] Herrera and the [Oscar] de la Renta,” Griffin said about her qualifications for taking over Joan Rivers role.

Kathy Griffin’s witty timing is a testament that E! made an educated choice in choosing Joan River’s replacement. Time will tell if Griffin can fill Rivers’ ‘very big shoes’ or not.
