Those Dolce & Gabbana Headphones are HOW Much?!

Those Dolce & Gabbana headphones that everyone has been talking about have finally hit retail, but before you make plans to listen to the new Drake album in these Swarovski-encrusted headphones, you may want to think twice before pulling out your credit cards. These fur and leather headphones are going to cost you upwards $7,095 on Moda Operandi, and they aren’t even being delivered until July.

Little is known about the actual sound quality of these headphones, other than that the hardware was made by trendy headphone manufacturer Frends. For a $7k price tag, however, we assume that it’s the best of the best.

So what do you think fashionistas, save or splurge?

Lottie Moss is the New Kate Moss on Sonia Rykiel’s Paris Runway

Kate Moss’ younger half sister, Lottie Moss, just made her big runway debut at Sonia Rykiel’s fall ready-to-wear show during Paris Fashion Week. Lottie first debuted in the industry with a Calvin Klein campaign last year but has remained out of the spotlight since.

The new model was all confidence as she took the runway at Sonia Rykiel in a crushed velvet minidress and and ankle boots. Lottie proved that she could hold her own by walking alongside industry favorites like Gigi Hadid and Molly Bair, as well as her longtime BFF Ella Richards. Lottie and Ella walked down the aisle together as flower girls for Kate Moss’ wedding to British guitarist Jamie Hince.

Last year, Sonia Rykiel garnered attention for sending down an army of celebrity models including Kendall Jenner and Hailey Baldwin. This year, Rykiel is making waves for using new talent like Lottie and Ella.

So is Lottie the new Kate Moss? Judging by her ease and confidence at the Sonia Rykiel show yesterday, we wouldn’t be surprised if she became an It girl faster than you can say ‘Kendall Jenner’.

Apple is the Next Must Have Designer in High Fashion

Apple has always been a high-end luxury brand, but it is now venturing into the world of high fashion. Wearable tech, or wearables for short, have been on the lips of everyone’s mouths for months now and Apple is finally making it an accessible reality––or, at the very least, more accessible than it has been before. The most expensive Apple Watch, which is scheduled for release on April 10, will retail for $10,000.

The much anticipated Apple Watch is advertised as the accessory that makes sense. Among the many functions that it boasts, some of the most impressive include hands-free boarding on American Airlines and being a credit card substitute at Sephora and Whole Foods. In addition to being highly functional, the highly customizable physical appearance throws it into the vein of high fashion.

According to The Wall Street Journal, “The smartwatch is the first Apple device designed explicitly to be displayed, rather than tucked away. So, Apple is offering an unusual range of choices, allowing consumers to customize the look—and price—of the Apple Watch with a wide selection of watch casings and straps geared to appeal to varying segments of the market.”

The first generation Apple Watch is at the forefront of wearable technology. The starting price for retail is $349 for the most basic functions and can run up to $10,000 for the limited edition series. While scholars and fashion critics alike have lauded the design of the Apple’s latest toy, it remains to be seen whether or not the watch will catch on with its price tag.

Keith Wilcox, professor of Marketing at Columbia University Business School, told The Wall Street Journal, “There isn’t a story to explain why the Watch has to be so expensive.” The Apple Watch will be one of the most costly gadgets to be released by the company. Regardless of whether or not you’ll be in line this April however, one thing is definitely for sure: the Apple Watch is shaping Apple up to be the must-have designer of the year. The watch has already appeared on the cover of Vogue China, and it’s only a matter of time before it starts popping up everywhere else.

Kate Moss Throws Punches at the Paparazzi with Lady Gaga

Kate Moss was out partying with Lady Gaga in Paris last Friday night when she displayed her worst model behavior. The pair, along with Lady Gaga’s bodyguards and entourage, were entering Parisienne hotspot Club Haussmann when paparazzi quickly surrounded them with their cameras.

Just as Moss was about to enter the venue, she unexpectedly turned and threw a punch at a photographer behind her. Lady Gaga was visibly shocked, pictured putting her hand up to her mouth.

The sweet and lovely Kate I could laugh with her for hours! Beauty from the inside out.

According to Fox News, “Moss was just steps away from the entrance when, in a flash, she spun on her heels, furrowed her brow and attacked one photographer. She caught a fistful of his coat sleeve and went to swing at the man before Gaga’s entourage intervened.”

Moss’ violent outburst could have been spurred by a previous run in with photographers. Back in 2010, her and her daughter Lila were almost trampled outside of Los Angeles International Airport, similar to the Kendall Jenner incident earlier this week.

It has been reported that no one was injured in the incident, and it remains to be known whether or not the photographer in question will be pressing charges. See the outburst here.

Amber Rose Strikes Back Against Slut Shaming

Amber Rose struck back against critics who attacked her ‘racy’ photos on Saturday. The artist, who is neither shy about her body nor her body, posted a photo of herself in lingerie in response to the haters. The caption read, “U Guys Love Slut Shaming Huh? Good. I feed off that shit. #HowtobeAbadBitch”.

The artist came under fire for posting revealing photos of herself, which caused critics to question her parenting capabilities. Critics who conveniently took shelter behind their computer screens called her out on being a bad mother to 2-year-old Taylor Thomaz…as if her dress had anything to do with her child rearing skills.

Women have notoriously been slut shamed based on what they wear, but why should women be penalized for feeling sexy and confident? Amber’s colleague and frenemy, Kim Kardashian, has also been criticized for wearing revealing clothing around her daughter North West––and Amber and Kim are just two of the countless women who are judged relentlessly everyday.

You call pushing a stroller in stilettos being a slut, I call it being a badass. I applaud Amber for standing up to the haters. Slut shaming is so 1800s.

Lady Gaga Underwhelms at Balenciaga

Lady Gaga sat front and center at the Balenciaga show at Paris Fashion Week on Friday, showing off two unique outfits in a single night. It’s not uncommon for the queen of shock pop to have many costume changes in a single night, but these outfit were rather shockless for the newly engaged singer songwriter.

She wore a tight black dress with a high slit up the centre, highlighting her lean and slender figure. She jazzed it up with an envy-inducing pair of pointed heels, while rocking a set of black leather gloves. The simple outfit was quite nice, despite it being surprise-less.

The second outfit the 28-year-old beauty wore was a metallic and silk embellished dress, which boasted a bodice accompanied by a long ill-fitted black skirt and the same heels from the previous outfit. This outfit was a bit of a hot mess, making it the only reason it stood out of the crowd.

Lady Gaga’s trademark over-the-top outfits were no where to be seen, and we have to wonder––is married life causing her to tone it down a notch?

Kanye and Lorde Kick it at Dior Show in Paris

Kanye West is known for making friends with all corners of the music industry, even the most obscure. In the same vein, Kanye is getting friendly with 18-year-old New Zealand singer and songwriter, Lorde. They were spotted posing for cameras outside the Christian Dior show at Paris Fashion Week.

The unlikely couple were said to refuse to smile for cameras and wore matching black ensembles. Lorde’s dress was actually a sequin number from designer Dior to match the show. Kanye has said in the past he hates to smile, and said that “not smiling makes me smile”, but as for Lorde, we think it’s just teenage angst.

Inside, Lorde cracked and opened up a grin from ear to ear when sitting next to Fifty Shades of Grey star, Dakota Johnson, and Hailee Steinfeld.

Kim Kardashian’s newly blonde hair was nowhere to be seen.

Balmain’s Creative Director Olivier Rousteing is Officially Insta-Famous

Known for his impeccable tailoring as much as his enviable cheekbones, Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing has officially reached insta-famedom. The French designer just surpassed 1 million followers today, making him the most followed French designer on the platform.

Olivier’s talent as one of the best and youngest creative directors the French fashion house has seen is not what has propelled him into his celebrity status, however. The designer said to WWD, “I’m young, I’m black, I’m a designer, I have famous friends, but I also eat hamburgers and have both feet on the ground. It’s real life and reality always excites people.”

He shows that he has “both feet on the ground” by posting selfies, snaps at the gym, and party pics just like the rest of us…that is, in between high fashion Balmain editorials, selfies with the A-list, and his occasional magazine cover.

At just 28 and with four years at Balmain under his belt, Rousteing is quickly becoming a celebrity in his own right. According to Quartz, “On a daily basis his photos connect with about as many eyes as Vogue magazine does each month. That’s influence.”

Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner Are BFFs and Taking Over Paris

Kendall Jenner has been pictured frolicking––and getting mobbed––all over Paris Fashion Week, but supermodel BFF Cara Delevingne has been nowhere in site…probably because she’s too busy cozying up with her new fling St. Vincent.

Never one to spend time alone, Kendall has filled her BFF void with up and coming It girl, Gigi Hadid. The two 19-year-olds are taking Paris Fashion Week by storm, hand-in-hand. The two opened the season at H&M’s runway on Day 1, and stole the show at Balmain the next.

After their runway success at Balmain, the two struck a pose together outside of Balmain’s post show dinner and after party and were seated next to each other at the dinner table.

No word if Cara is jealous yet, but with Gigi’s rising star status we wouldn’t blame her if she was.

Lupita Nyon’o’s Stolen Dress, Anticlimactic Conclusion

Featured Video

Lupita Nyong’o’s pearl dress fiasco has finally ended when Calvin Klein, the designer of the dress in question, decided not to press charges after the dress was recovered in a black garment bag…under a trash bag, under a counter, in the hotel it was stolen from.

The dress was taken two days after it’s Academy Awards red carpet debut on the shoulders of Nyong’o. The dress was nabbed from her room at The London Hotel in West Hollywood between 8 and 9pm. The dress was appraised at $150,000 and adorned with 6,000 natural white pearls. No reason was stated as to why Calvin Klein decided to drop charges and Lupita Nyong’o has stayed quiet during the entire debacle.

A Los Angeles sheriff’s department spokesperson said there were no suspects identified at the time the case was dropped.

According to TMZ, the dress’ thief told the site he had taken two of the pearls off the dress to Los Angeles’ garment district where they were appraised as worthless fakes. In the same hotel room as the dress that night was Nyong’o’s Oscars gift bag which was valued at $125,000. Fortunately for Nyong’o, the thief chose wrong.
