Puma’s New Direction and Louboutin Channels Dita Von Teese



Puma's New Creative Director
In a surprising move pop star Rihanna has been named creative director for German sportswear company Puma's women's collections. According to a statement from Puma the multi-year partnership with the company will see Rihanna take an active "hands on-approach" working on Puma's fitness and training collections across apparel as well as shoes. The statement from Puma added that the singer will "will work with Puma to design and customize classic Puma styles as well as create new styles to add to the Puma product portfolio.”

Gareth Pugh's Return
British designer Gareth Pugh, famed for his futuristic high tech design work, will return to London Fashion Week to present his autumn/winter 2015 collection. It will be the designer’s first appearance in London since 2008 after which he showed in Paris and most recently New York. Gareth Pugh's return to London coincides with the 10th anniversary of the brand - the designer commented on how formative the city’s creative energy had been to his development as a designer, adding that "At heart this is a creative decision - it feels timely and true to the spirit of the work." The move will not simply be for a season with the designer telling online trade magazine WWD that the move would be a permanent one.

Christian Louboutin x Dita Von Teese
Sensual French footwear brand Christian Louboutin, famous for its signature red soles, is collaborating with American burlesque dancer and model Dita Von Teese to launch a new range of lingerie. The XXXtian collection will be released though the burlesque star’s vintage inspired lingerie brand, Dita Von Teese Lingerie. As part of the collaboration, Louboutin has created an exclusive Toile de Jouy silk, from which the duo have designed a range of risqué, luxurious and feminine pieces including corsets, suspenders, chemises and robes.
