Lookbook Index: Top 10 Street Styles from Around the World

This week’s lookbooks show that plaid is rad and the only way to wear a coat is long. Winter is finally fading so lightweight, longline coats are a must-have and hemlines are slowly starting to creep up with ankle jeans coming out of the closet. Hats are still a wardrobe favorite among lookbookers and flared skirts from fall are back for spring.

12 Turtlenecks that Don’t Totally Suck

Back in the day when my mother still had a say over what I wore, I used to dread getting dressed for fear that she would pull out a turtleneck. I hate turtlenecks with a passion. They make me feel like I’m suffocating, ruin my hair, and just look bad in general.

The fashion world doesn’t seem to agree with my sentiments, however, and I guess it’s about time that I jump on the bandwagon. Turtlenecks were seen all over New York Fashion Week, and have been making a comeback with 70s fashion and the release of Inherent Vice. So I’ve taken it upon myself to face my fears for the sake of fashion, and dive head first into the world of turtlenecks. What did I discover? Turtlenecks aren’t all made equal.

See the gallery above for 12 turtlenecks that don’t totally suck, found by the world’s biggest turtleneck hater.

Oscars Countdown: Best Actor Nominees’ Red Carpet Style

The Oscars are just three days away and in anticipation we are looking at the nominees’ best red carpet styles. This edition is in honor of those up for Best Actor with the nominees being Eddie Redmayne, Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Keaton, Bradley Cooper, and Steve Carell.

Eddie Redmayne is up for his role in The Theory of Everything, which is to date his biggest and best role. The actor has made a few appearance on the red carpet for his roles in My Week With Marilyn and Les Miserables. At the age of 33, this is his first Oscar nomination.

Benedict Cumberbatch is no stranger to the red carpet, he has been making huge strides in his career since 2013. He’s up for his role in The Imitation Game, but he’s best known for his role in the BBC series, Sherlock. This is also his first Oscar nomination.

Michael Keaton is a Hollywood veteran who fell off the face of the earth––ironically the role he is nominated for parallels his life––and has rejoined the ranks of the elite with his first Oscar nomination for Birdman.

Bradley Cooper is on fire with his third Oscar nomination in a row––previously nominated for Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle. This year he is nominated for his controversial role in American Sniper.

The wild card this year is Steve Carell. Usually the funny guy, this year he played a very serious role in Foxcatcher. This is also Steve Carell’s first Oscar nomination.

Stay tuned to Fashion One for more red carpet styles from the Oscars.

Editor’s Picks: 10 Best Tried and True Beauty Products

I have two addictions in life: boots and beauty products. I consider myself to be somewhat of an expert on both topics, and I’m unashamed to admit that that’s where most of my money ends up. As Carrie famously said in Sex and the City, “I like my money right where I can see it… hanging in my closet”, and I like to see it in my makeup bag too.

Just like the perfect leather boots, finding the right beauty product is a serious investment in both time and money––and I’ve spent a lot of both. After years of testing products and countless eyeliners and lotions wasted, I’ve finally found an artillery of beauty products that I can rely on.
